I understand Bob Cann came from Devon. Did he have a connection with melodeons in Scotland?

I'd say (with the amount of vinyl coming out of Scotland in the 50s) surely influenced by, rather than influence upon... mindyou, there were some inferences somewhere that Bob sometimes 'tamed down' his style to adapt to the 'accepted taste' refinements of the bods at the BBC/EFDSS... much in the way Jimmy Shand was also obliged to do...

Here's one of the few bits of Bob on film (at 4:53)... battering nine bells out of Jimmy's signature tune... 8)

I now notice that Bob Cann was mentioned by Anahata way above.

The conversation moved on from the original title and someone asked about influential English players.
