Came across this G/C box while on holiday in France last month - old friend of my wife's having taken up "le diato." The owner was cursing it and hankering after a Saltarelle, but I thought it played quite nicely apart from the air valve, which was exceedingly hard to operate. I got it working better with a bit of wire-bending but the triangular button was so shallow that it was impossible to have the air valve both usable and not leaking!

Searching for info. I found this page  (warning - ghastly midi music embedded) http://pagesperso-orange.fr/diato-amateurs/marques.htm which says they are made by Excelsior in Castelfidardo and marketed in France, and mentions that the air valve is unsatisfactory, though not for the same reasons.
