I spoke to the stewardess of the Sailing Club earlier today and can now confirm that we can have a meeting/session for melnetters there on Wednesday starting at 3.00 pm. I look forward to seeing anyone who can make it between 3.00 and 5.00 pm.

Well, Sidmouth is over for another year.  :'(

This year was one of the best yet IMHO (and I have been going since 1969!). The weather was good (for once!); there were some inspiring melodeon workshops (and one or two that were not quite so good); we had some great sessions in the Sailing Club and the Radway; and there were some excellent concerts, with Andy Cutting and Friends being the outstanding one for me.

It was good to meet the fourteen people who turned up to the melnet meeting in the Sailing Club and the three or four others who came up to me at other times to expain why they couldn't make the meeting. A suggestion has been made that we meet up again next year to exchange tunes, the idea being that we play tunes that are particular favourites of ours and, if possible, bring along a copy of the sheet music. If others would like copies of the sheet music, I will print it out and distribute it. I have already cleared it with Mike and Kaz (the steward and stewardess) that we can use the Sailing Club bar again as the venue.

Only another 51 weeks to go...

Thank you for arranging everything, Bob.  It was lovely to meet everyone and a very rare treat for me to play with other people.  I've been looking for the dots or preferably the ABC for one tune we played, Theme Vannetaise, but without any luck.  Could anyone help, please?

Sorry I couldn't make it. Nice to met a few melnetters individually though.
I probably saw quite a few others who I didn't know were melnetters too...

I'm pretty sure that I saw you walking through Sidmouth, but as you were black and white I wasn't completely sure :P

I didn't make it either, didn't have a melodeon with me anyway and I didn't have time to learn how to play the CBA I bought at the Music Room stall. ;D

Nice to bump into Anahata at the aforementioned temporary music emporium though and I did spot my old LP case/toolbox being used a few times.

Excellent ;D Why did you not say hello? I spent some time proclaiming on how much more convenient it was than my rather battered Saltarelle case, where all the feet apart from one have fallen off.

It was either from quite a distance, rushing to get somewhere else or would have meant losing my place in a queque. Don't worry, nothing personal. ;D

Oh, and Rees, I know I said I owed you a pint in another thread but I assure you it was complete chance that we never once found ourselves in the same establishment....'twas not for lack of trying. :|glug ;D

Yes, many thanks to Bob for his efforts.

Steve, I've just emailed you the dots to Theme Vannetaise, aka Twiglet.
