Pignol & Milleret layout
« on: July 12, 2010, 02:24:59 PM »

Got hooked on Pignol & Milleret stuff recently, as well as other similar musicians such as Vincent Boniface and Simone Bottasso. I am this trying to play some of their tunes on my D/G with some limited success.

In the long term though I'd love to get a box more suitable for this kind of music, possibly a 3 row 18 bass. But would like to know what layout/key Pignol and Milleret play in. Is it GCF? or is it something more complicated?

They used to have it posted on their "Mustradem" website --
They have a couple of different layouts.  Usually the outer row is a typical G row, but on the inner row the G and the A are reversed -- G is pull and A is pressed.

If you get their tutor which is an excellent investment, volume 3 gives a detailed explanation of their 3 row layout.  Fascinating. The books are available from the Mustradem website.

Hm, tried to place the order but received no confirmation. Didn't receive any answer on my email too. Is it common for this shop or it's a kind of luck of an Irish? :-\

I placed an order on the 13th. Got immediate confirmation, and the books arrived on the 15th priority mail.
Admittedly I am in Florida so it wasn't much of a trip. Now that I think of it, I did place an order with them once, in the middle of the night, and didn't get a response. Several days later I emailed to see what was up, and they said the order had shipped. They thought the response may have ended up in my SPAM file.

Well I'll wait for a while then. If it's still no reply I'll try to phone them maybe. Thanks!

Button Box has a very aggressive spam filter, not sure why, but I have had same thing happen, and I am located in US with with a yahoo.com mailbox address.  Might want to give them a call. Or try another email account if you have one.

They have a couple of different layouts.  Usually the outer row is a typical G row, but on the inner row the G and the A are reversed -- G is pull and A is pressed.

This is the standard system in Holland but on a C/F box, so C and D are flipped on the F row.
