There is a music session on the second Monday of each month at the Seven Stars, Bath Rd, Knowl Hill, Reading, RG10 9UR.
This is a small (so far) and friendly session of mainly English tunes in a fine old pub serving Brakspear beer. We welcome players of all abilities and any instrument but more melodeon players would be good.
Starts at 8:30 so if you are in the area do come along.

Also slow tune session 7:45 to 8:30, well known tunes at a moderate pace.

Yes Noel Hill is.
The Seven Stars is also the home of the Maisenhead Folk Club here and I have often thought it would be good to book Noel Hill at Knowl Hill but he may be a bit too expensive for a small folk club.

Oooh, nice and close to home - I think I've even driven past the place before! I may well come down sometime, although I am a beginner on the box  ::)

Well, I would be coming tonight, but I'm absolutely knackered having just got back from an afternoon of work after driving back from Southwell ff this morning. At this rate you may possibly catch me down there sometime before Xmas  ::)

You would be most welcome, we had a good little session last night and you never know we may even get Lester along one month.

Nope, just a holiday and daughter's wedding to an American. Back soon.

Bit of a globe-trotting lifestyle there? :D I shall be there, along with Liz, whose concertina arrived shortly after last month's session...!

Sorry I didn't make it - yet again...

I put boxes in the car and set off.  Called in for a cup of tea with my young lady - and somehow never got any further.  I remember one of the wives in our morris side when asked to join us at a session.  She pointed out that a non-player sitting in a session feels rather like they turned up late at a party.  Everyone else has had a couple of drinks and you need to catch up, but if you don't play, you can't.  Yes, it can be intoxicating!
