Yes we can play in the skittle alley until the cold forces us back into the bar as winter sets in.

Don't panic, I'm in Bracknell now! (although not yet with a working boiler  ::)). All being well I shall join you once again (can't promise any new tunes though - I can hardly even remember any of my old ones!)  ;D

Ellie, hope your boiler's fixed by now.  I wouldn't have thought there was much difference between some parts of Reading to the pub and Bracknell.  There's quite a choice of fun cross-country routes, too.  Gone are the days when I would yump the car over the hump-back bridge coming out of Bracknell (used to live in Pollardrow Avenue).  It landed just in time to turn right at the pub!

Sorry to Lester that I didn't make it to celebrate his retirement, last month.  I take it the next session is 8th Nov?

Rob.

Thanks for the prompt Rob the next session is indeed on the 8th of this month and if it's too cold we will move back into the pub next to the fire. All welcome.

Rob - boiler fixed, car now broke (bit of magnet for unfortunate happenings at the moment...so beware on Monday!).

Kay - Awesome, see you there!  ;D

Malcolm - It can't be that cold, I've just turned my central heating off again!

Ellie- not just you as my trusty old Erica has developed 2 sick notes so the Pokerwork will be getting out of the house, I knew there was a reason that I never sold it.
Scallyanglo- it will be good to see you.

Good news. I was talking to the landlord last night, to check that all is well for Monday and he said he will put the heating on for us so we will be in the skittle alley.

I really enjoyed the session last night and found everyone very friendly & welcoming. Good beer & lovely old timbered ceiling (straight from Grand Designs) in the skittle alley. Came away with lots of 'must learns'! I'll be back  (:)

Cheers, Kay

And great to see you too - another year of that and we'll be equal  :D

I take back all my comments about it not being cold - in order to not require fingerless gloves next month, could we return to the pub, with it's roaring fire next month please? Brrrr!  :|glug

It was good to see you Kay, Ellie, Lester and Rob a record 5 melneters at the session. I think it will be the pub next moth as the landlord had put the heating on but that is about as warm as it gets.

Last session of the year will be 13th December and will be back in the pub net to the nice warm fire unless there is a dramatic change in the weather. Hope to see some of you there with a few Christmas tunes may be.

I would like to come to Knowl Hill if the weather is OK. I live in Hampshire. You said that there were 5 melnetters last time. But roughly how many musicians in total. I'll come with a melodeon. Is it alright for my wife to attend with her fiddle?

It varies, Doug - anything up to about 20 at times! A fiddle would be lovely, so definitely bring your wife  ;D Would be lovely to see you  (:) (5 melodeons is slightly above average...but we don't always play all at once  >:E).

(I was a bit worried you were going to say it was tonight Malcolm!).

Doug, you can never have too many melodeons in a session and other halves, especially musical ones, always welcome.

That was my 2000th post  ;D
