Imagine the sight of a group of players at a festival in loincloths with MAD emblazoned on them!

Take me there!

It would seem Al hasn't encountered Whitby's daytrippers from the Ayre valley   ;D

    And that Juker may not have read the Miller's tale  ;)
Oh dear, I have indeed read the Miller's tale but had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me :|bl :|bl

Nobody so far has mentioned the process for the obligatory public removal of regalia (Badge, pin, leather thing, merkin etc) in the event of its wearer bringing melnet into disrepute by crossing those boundaries of decency which are seldom spoken of amongst decent folk, such as playing things with 4 1/2 strings, black and white rectangular keys, hexagonal ends or anything ending with 'lli'.

Are you suggesting there be a code of honour amongst melodeonista's? Counts me out  >:E

And just what, precisely, is wrong with Llanelli?

As there is a 'other instruments' section I think special dispensation is in order for those with concertinas. ;)

Aha, so perhaps I should have started from the opposite direction and asked what thoughts there were on sanctions that might be applied for people bringing melnet into repute.......

Sorry to get back on topic, but how about a pin (maybe a cloisonne?) with one of the emoticons on it?

I think this one:   :||:

Excellent idea - but we'd need LDT's ok as I believe she was responsible for the design of our little squeezing buddies?

Yep, I'll third that. One of the things that appeals to me about such a badge/pin is being spotted as a melnet member somewhere outside of a workshop/festival. e.g. on holiday, in Sainsbury's etc... I definitely like the idea of it being cloisonne, and on the small side,

Yes Al you're right... please LDT?
