Um...looks great except the keyboard and basses need flipping?

Ahhh, yes, I was wondering when someone would spot the deliberate mistake! :P To be fair, it was done on paint at nearly midnight, and there was free beer at our pub night...

why not just use
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Badge-It-Maker/dp/B000296JY0
as its obviously not going to be a large 'run' of them. ;)

I think this is an excellent design but would agree that a subtle colour change might be in order. This would be so easy to spot on someone which is the basic idea of the whole thing. Put me down for two (one spare)!  :||:

I thought the suggestion was for enamelled.

Hmmmm  "I personally favour leather" :Ph  But entirely happy to go with the flow on this. I am however unlikely to wear a cheapo tinplate version. I'm very cool about price, provided a fair portion goes to the person managing it, and any excess to forum funds. I'd also like part of my £5 whatever to subsidise an 'unwaged' arrangement in this.  Chris

I think leather or enamel is quite acceptable and agree that we should avoid the 'cheapo' type!

I think before anyone gets carried away costings should be done and enquiries made....coz take a look at how many members there are, how many are active etc. you may find you'll have to sell quite a few to break even.

Very quick search on t'internet ...

100 "badges" (ie simple round, pinned to clothes) ~ £25-£40
250 stickers (depending on size) ~ £17-£35
100 enamel badges (unlikely option!) ~ £130-£150

No shortage of suppliers, by the looks of it, and no need to order silly quantities.

I may be having a senior moment, but what do you mean by "leather badge"?
(oh, don't say "a badge made of leather"! - I get that bit, I'm just drawing a blank on how it would be used - pinned on? sewn on? etc)

Ah...the voice of commonsense  (:)
I'm probably going to want a few - if someone could get some costings and then build some profit in for the forum and let us know? Then we'll have a better idea what we're talking about. Perhaps this task should be given lock, stock and barrel, to someone? Rather than us all chipping in with our (v.important 2p's). I propose whoever started the thread  ;D

BTW I prefer either leather or enamel - with enamel as my fave!

Thanks - I'm clearly not well-morrissed.  :D

I've done a cursory web trawl - can't find suppliers of leather ones ... can you point to any?

I've been watching 'The Apprentice' and 'High street dreams' and 'mary queen of shops' and they main problem is always lack of market research and costing. Who says tv doesn't teach you anything? ;)

I don't know what a leather badge is either. Enamel or bog standard plastic badge for me or a sticker or in my case stickers. (I like to collect badges and cover bags in them. I also coat folders and notebooks in stickers.)

I'd not thought of leather but as long as its not the size of a first prize for Royal Show (Donkeys Class) it would go nicely on lapel, shirt or strap, If this were the case, Ollies MAD bellows concept for the centre and the melnet url around it or under it would make an attractive ornament

First choice would be decent enamel, I'd also go for stickers if not too big, wouldn't be keen on plastic badge

Richard - now he's reset his forgotten password and the shaking from M.net withdrawal has settled down.........................

This lot (http://www.cafepress.co.uk/) will produce customised stuff. Anyone fancy a melodeon.net thong?  :o

This is a good idea I think. We could set up a customised shop, like this:

http://www.cafepress.co.uk/cp/info/sell/index.aspx?area=learn&page=learn

No setup costs - upload a design, choose a few products to stick the design on; and people buy badges/t-shirts/whatever as and when wanted...

Cheers,

Clive
