Wiggly box=sore left shoulder, reduced control of right hand. Stiff bellows?

Nice job, I also play c#/d but have never tackled the bass. I'm gonna do that one of these days.
Is your dancemaster fairly new ? Sounds good.

Thanks Don. My Dancemaster has Binci reeds. That's the awesome thing about Michael's accordions. He's really improved his box design, but it's still super affordable so one can afford top of the line reeds. I used to have what I thought was a really good 48bass PA made by someone who shall remain nameless, and I got rid of it because I thought I was always going to be a terrible player. Little did I know the problem lay in the reeds much more than my playing!

Lovely funky polka, first tune on the famous 1977 recording Jackie Daly and Séamus Creagh recording.

As Don says, tackling the basses is generally a good idea but I think you could make this tune fly better if you nixed them. The timing of the groupings consisting of 1 eighth note + 2 sixteenths (1 quaver + 2 semiquavers) is very even, IMO you need to stretch the eighth one a bit, and the oompah bass is stopping you from doing that. I know, you didn't ask, but... ;-)

Interesting, Steve, thanks. I thought my eighths were too short because I haven't learned to lift the finger later and set it down quicker on the next button. Also, thanks for the citation. I learned the polka from probably a less trad group, Jody's Heaven. By nixing the basses, do you mean all left hand work, or just nixing the bass notes and keeping some salient chords?

Steve has a point but at the same time you have a nice light hand on the bass.

True, Terry, the basses were nice and light. Pontyrogof, I have sent something by email that might illustrate what I mean. Thanks for taking the comments in good part.

Thanks, Steve, the illustration was lovely. I've been playing Last Chance Polka with very sparing bass--I'll vid/record that soon for discussion here. :)

Your compliment goes a long way because I've been working hard at having a light bass hand :)
