Here is my attempt...I've just had to leave out what I couldn't play...and yes that's the closest 'stock noise' I could find to the original at the end. ;)

That was great Sarah, you're certainly putting the pressure on us beginners - I can almost do the A part but the B part escapes me completely at the mo ??? haven't even looked at the C part  :(
I'm trying for a G -C version on my 2 1/2 row G/C,  means i get to use the 1/2 row for the first time but I'm finding it all very difficult

OK folks, here's my take on this tune. I've switched off my musicality filter completely, and tried to fit it to the dance 'Swedish Masquerade'. I've played in a few ceilidh bands over the years, and pretty much every one has done the dance Swedish Masquerade, and always to exactly the same tune. Maybe I'm just lucky?  ::)

So here we are; an alternative tune for the dance. This involves playing the A music once, as a 'stately march', whatever that is. Then the B music once, as a waltz. Then the C music twice, as a fast polka. I've quietly forgotten about the rest. And to keep it reasonably simple, the whole thing is in the same key (Eb in this case), completely ignoring the key changes of the original. In keeping with the tv series, there are plenty of 'Monty Python' moments in this version; some intentional, some not. And the 'ministry of silly faces' is also present!

I don't happen to have a spare room full of Swedish Masquerade dancers to try this out of course; if you do, why don't you try it out and let me know how it goes?

Do you get bellows wear from resting on your leg?

Nope; the Preciosa's strap is so short (even at full stretch) that the bellows don't actually rest on my leg - the weight, such as it is, is taken by the strap and my right hand. My pokerwork has bellows wear from when I started playing, but these days I use a single strap extended as far as it goes and rest the treble end on my left knee; the bellows extending off into air. But then I don't tend to move the bellows much when I play anyway.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone... now let's see lots more versions!

Cheers,

Clive

...my Pressed Wood is fitted with a high G#/Bb on 11th button of D-row... which is a bloody long way from anywhere...

cheers - and is it too late to propose 3 blind mice for next months TOTM?

Blimey! Great job Mike. I'd enjoy hearing - and seeing - you play it without the recording light on.
