An interesting fact about October 2010:

This OCTOBER has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, all in 1 month.
It happens once in 823 years.  ::)

Surely it happens every time October starts on a Friday?

Wasn't there a song with the phrase "When it's night-time in Italy, it's Wednesday over here" ?

Yes - I remember my father in law telling me about that.  ;)

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

Wish I could get down to Maldon, Jack. I've heard so many good reports. But I can't manage the time for a 3,ooo km round trip right now.  Maybe next year....on the way back from Fleurieu perhaps, which is also on my "to do" list.

I've just received a metre of fairly pricey buckram...when I'd only ordered and been charged for half a metre. ;D

Re-covering some old-fashioned wide Hohner bellows frames...although I suppose with all the extra I've now got I could make a top hat for my dog or a tiny green fez for myself...

Also, in the interests of keeping that thread on-topic, did anyone else read the title "finding strange scales on your box" and immediately think it sounded like something from a 70s British horror film so second-rate that even Christopher Lee would balk at it?.

"I say, I found some strange scales on my accordion this morning, like a lizard"
