Springs

Does anyone know where I can get treble springs from that is cheaper than Charlie Marshall? I am looking for the type of pring with arms that is typically used on the treble and sometimes in one row box basses. But considering I'd really like to order 50-100 I not prepared to spend the 75p each that CGM charge.

Buy some piano wire of the appropriate thickness and make your own. Instructions here on Bernard Loffets website for making hohner springs,  you will just need to make the legs longer and bend them to the shape you require.

I've just bought some 3 m lengths of piano wire in a variety of thicknesses from ebay, if you decide to try Emma PM me and I'll send the chaps details or if you want some different sizes to handle to get a feel for the size you need I'm sure we can arrange something, all the tens between .010 and .050 plus some oddments inbetween, also, I have a fair size roll of this stuff at .014", probably a bit on the light side but I'll never use it all in my lifetime if a mini melodeon also has a light touch.............

Ill have a look at the Loffet link too, thanks Theo  (:)

You will probably need a thickness in the range of 0.5 to 0.6mm
