Anyone know what this is?
« on: October 28, 2010, 08:13:43 PM »

Being the ignoramus that I am about 3 rows I stumbled upon this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONOLA-FAVORIT-II-BUTTON-ACCORDION-/120637473838?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item1c168dc42e
on ebay and thought it fascinating.  I think Sonola is considered a good make or am I wrong.  The box looks to be in good nick.  I have no idea about the tuning though..anyone?

I looked at that, it seems to be an ADG with a gleitchon, a la club, on the G row.

The Sonola I have is very well built although the air valve is too small, needs a rebore.

Drew,

I think it's actually a model usually labeled Delicia.

There is a possibility that the Sonola name was not added legitimately.

But it's hard to know everything that happens (and happened) with accordion brands and retailers.

I agree with Paul, that's a Delicia Favorit. It also has the mushroom-shaped bass buttons, arranged in an un-ergonomic reverse stagger pattern, as found on early Delicia Popular models like my first box.

agreed - I can't imagine that being a very comfortable bass end to play, the bass buttons are going in the wrong direction!

They go in the wrong directions but they sound very powerful, low and fat!
