When i started learning melodeon ,there was a tune in the book called Jeanette And Jeannot,i think it used to be played by someone called Mel Dean who used to play in the Etchingham Steam Band.Anyone familiar with the tune?

Yes Mick,
I play it often, the B part is where I first learnt to find my way around all the basses/chords. I learnt it from the legendary Terry Teague but the dots for it are on the last page of the Roger Watson's Handbook for Melodeon, I think he recorded it on an LP, sadly no longer available. It is a great tune with real bounce and fun to play, doesn't seem that popular though, I have searched for versions of it on youtube but to no avail,

I learned it from Mel Dean (happy memories - he lived in Cambridge for a few years and we recruited him into our band) but I'm pretty sure it's also in Nick Barber's English Choice red book.
