Don't know, but having printed off the music Bob provided last night, I'm trying to learn it, as I rather like it!

I got my daughter to play it on her flute, and we agreed it sounded like a Christmas Carol.

I thought it had more hornpipe in it, so if nobody comes up with its original name, I like it too and I shall file it as "Bob Ellis' Hornpipe"!   :-*  :||:  :|glug  :|bl

The title of the tune you are looking for is: Riggs of Doom. I wrote it a couple of years ago and the Utrecht Morris Men use it for dancing.
I have attached my notes and chords.

Hi Frans and welcome to this forum.

Thank you for the name of the tune and for your notation of it. The Morris side for whom I play has recently begun to dance Riggs of Doom, which I knew to be a recently devised dance in the Bampton tradition. However, I thought the tune was traditional and had a different name because I was under the (obviously mistaken) impression that I had heard it before. You are to be congratulated for writing such a lovely tune.

Frans - I shall correct my records. May I add my congratulations to Bob's on this lovely tune?

Thanks for posting the ABC notation, Pete. As you may have noticed, Frans, who wrote the tune, posted the sheet music last December.

I must have missed the thread at the time, the Youtube link posted today brought it to my attention.

If this was it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLX35Zh4VQQ yes
the plaudits were well deserved, apologies for the wind noise but beyond my control or that of the primitive technology.
Well recognised. It was good to meet you briefly having followed your posts for a while.
Feel free to repost the link on melnet if you would like and forward it as you wish. It would be good if you would like to add to the info by way of 'comment' on the 'tube.

Best regards

Bill
