Reluctantly I am looking to sell my Hohner Corona III, GCF tuning. This is a great box but gets played very little compared to my D/G boxes and the wife is grumbling about the total number of melodeons in the house so it needs a new home.
I'm not sure of the age - maybe 1960s? I'm sure someone on melnet will know.
Red perloid finish.
Standard hohner GCF layout.
3 voices on the RHS - Low, middle, middle and with 5 couplers (mm, lm, lmm, l, m)
12 bases again in standard Hohner corona layout.
In good condition overall, especially for its age - a few minor scuffs and scratches on the casing but so small I cant get them to show up on the photos.
Fettled by Theo Gibb approx. 18 months ago - spot tuned, new base strap and side closing straps fitted.
Mechanically sound - all the couplers work fine, all the notes sound properly etc.
Tuning is pretty good to my ears.
Bellows compression is good.
Weights approx. 4kg on my bathroom scales.
Comes with a modern hardcase (see pictures) - the original suitcase type case was rather tatty so i replaced it.
Price £425 ono.
Buyer collects or we can arrange to ship it, whatever...
Feel free to ask any questions - PM me or post here and I will try to keep an eye on the thread and get back to you. I have also got a video (only from a web cam mind) so you can get an idea what it sounds like.
Thanks for looking.
