Well… I’ve know I’ve still got ‘TUNES’ but now I know something else too. You’re all barking mad- which is excellent, because I’m amongst friends.

TomB said it all-

‘I thought it was just me insane but now I realise I'm in good company.

'Just As The Sun Was Setting' lovely JKP tune, fits well on a standard D/G box with accidentals.

I didnt realise it was a JK tune - but on checking I have the dots for it in a JK tune book....although I can't read dots...

I have to play it on my Erica as my ISIS don't have accidentals - and change the key too...

John Kirkpatrick seemed to go though a 'purple patch' when he wrote some fantastic tunes...

Well, not only I had TUNES for years, but my girlfriend finds melodeon players hot and sexy... and she is a pianist and enjoys accompanying me when I play! So I am REALLY doomed, I cannot try to fight it anymore, I just have to live with it... and ENJOY it!

William, you're lucky that you only caught TUNES. A much more insidious and dangerous ATD* is iTunes. Caring for that can be an expensive business.

François, I really feel for you. It must be terrible having to put up with that kind of attention. You too might want to check out the recommendations for safe music, outlined below.

*ATD = aurally-transmitted disease. Avoiding exposure is almost impossible. Barrier prevention methods are recommended - such as inserting a rolled up prophylactic into each ear before you have any musical contact.

One of the most amazing things to me is that sometimes I've heard at least a hundred different versions of a particular tune and then I hear someone play it in a way that grabs me rudely by the collar and says "you have to learn this tune". I then have to sit down and learn the tune as if my life depended on it. Its like somebody finally decoded the DNA of the tune for me.  Weird but human I guess. Charlie
