Here we go:

Handel: Minuet from Berenice

... and of course, it was an ideal opportunity to use the streb and the church organ samples! It's like having a church organ anywhere you want one (I do weddings - very reasonable rates!) Played in Bb/Eb (sorry for the slightly antisocial key; if anyone wants to try this in a more sociable key I have an mp3 of it played in G (not so accurately though... *lots* of typos) somewhere around here - send me a message.

I am aware that the combination of melodeon face and the headphones I'm wearing give me a passing resemblance to Droopy by the way.  ::)

Cheers,

Clive

Rough demo of the Cole Porter tune.  I'm accompanying the inestimable David Greenham at this years Black Fly Follies at the Theater at Monmouth, Maine.  I did this to create a reference for him.

I suppose my 'jazzy' composition might fit the bill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWYA9fqc43I

To celebrate the fact that today I managed a short burst on the box before my wrist went on strike (and I reached for the Ibuprofen) here's a rusty "Stranger on the Shore" played on a Loffet G/C 2.6 row. http://soundcloud.com/oggiesnr/stranger-on-the-shore

Walkin on the wild side!

The roughness makes it all the sweeter.

Nicely done.

Not much here in the way of jazz standards. With that in mind I thought I'd post my version of Polkadots and Moonbeams.

http://libtrad.eu/mp3/Polkadots_and_Moonbeams.mp3

This is very much work in progress. I wrote the arrangement this morning. I wanted a haunted ballroom feel (mirrorball with with a ghostly couple dancing in shadows). I think I'm getting there.

I'm using the GCF corona with MIDI rhythm track. This is definitely schmaltz with extra cheese, but I kinda like it. What do you think?

If I had an album like that it would be perfect for late night car journeys when I'm in a freaky mood.

Thanks Bro. I'm gonna take that idea and run with it.

Best Wishes

You know how things sometimes seem to come out of a box "unbidden". Your fingers are not under conscious direction and you play a phrase or riff involuntarily. Well, it took  me about half an hour on Youtube just to identify what it was, me never having been a huge Bob Marley or reggae enthusiast, but in the end we decided to give it a try and it was fun. And people liked it. So it now sits in there among the Scottish, Irish and Cajun and other "whatever we feel like playing" stuff.

So here is my contributon to July 2010 - I think we were maybe playing it by July 2011 but getting any kind of recording available has taken a while.
