Suppose I could have added my two one rows and 4 clubs but would need a wider angled lens  ;D

Hah, I was talking to my friend Frey the other day - he visited you not long ago with his casty, and referred to your workshop as "Hohner Heaven" :)

Oh my!!  Theo, you've got it bad!

I should point out that some of the instruments in the foreground belong to customers,  which makes it seem better.  But it would take a wide-angle lens and a large mirror to show all of both sides of the room.   Of late even the floor is getting hard to find, but I did see a patch of it this afternoon when a neighbour came round to collect his two piano accordions.

Also I had a bit of bad luck on ebay last week, and despite my very low bids won 3 club boxes.

I have a notion that the B/C Erika is the very same instrument I now currently play.  I bought it on ebay roughly 14 months ago from a fellow in Kansas.  Looks identical, same strap, same bracket, same stained buttons.  Perhaps a coincidence, but a lovely box regardless.

It's probably the same instrument. I snagged the photos from Ebay, if you (or the seller, if you're out there) would like me to take them down then I will. It's important to have a disclaimer on the blog somewhere informing people that I'll remove anything questionable.

Is the Erika as nice as it looks?   :||:

Theo,

What a pretty, ivory Preciosa.  I'm jealous, but that could be eased if I had the grille badge off it!  If you've still got it, could you take some really good photos of the grille and badge - I'd like to try to make an ersatz version for mine?  If you remember, I only have the holes to mount one.

I'm not completely taken with the sound of the Preciosa although most people who've tried it seem to want to take it home.  I guess I'm more into larger boxes - being short I can hide behind them.  It is a good machine to take on travels, though, and also lends itself particularly well to certain tunes, e.g. Pterodactyl Two-Step.  It's probably the easiest to get into a dry-sac and onto my boat.

Sorry Rob, I don't have that one now.  I have  another of the same style but different colour which I think has the full badge, I'll see if I can get a photo.

I was recently thinking lovely thoughts about my Hohner Corso.  It was my first two-row and really set me on the path.  Now it's the box I use to corrupt the youth ... er ... give kids a chance to try out the accordion.  I was listening to some recordings of it, lately -- these things sound different when they're not sitting in your lap -- and I still think that's a damn fine sounding box.
