Which melodeon workshop ... ?
« on: February 23, 2011, 06:31:27 PM »

Which melodeon workshop would you recommend to attend to someone coming from the 'continent' ?
I'm in the process of thinking of attending a workshop somewhere in Great Britain, but I do not know which one  ...

In my opinion, Melodeons at Witney is the best. High quality tutors plus a CD and tunebook of the tunes three weeks beforehand so that you can learn the basic tunes beforehand and concentrate on the nuances and expression in the actual workshops. It is also very friendly and convivial.

Another vote for M@W. We already have a small number of regular chums who come across from Sweden so some more continental influence would be good.

Agree with Lester and Bob. M@W is really good. It would be great to see you there.

It also depends on how long you want to be here for.  M@W is a weekend, there is one day workshop Melodeons & More in Suffolk at the end of March, but that might be fully booked by now.

If you want to stay for a week and also enjoys the delights of wonderful Durham City then there is the Folkworks Summer School from 8th - 13th August.

Hm, seems to be a good idea .. ideally as I'm doing some sports (orienteering http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orienteering)
I could it combine with http://www.scottish6days.com/2011/
and having Andy Cutting as tutor would not be a bad idea  ;D
