I don't use accidentals in Tip Top or Primrose......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L78U3LPoZd0

Exactly my point. It's a tune that works as well with/without... as opposed to other (esp. modern) tunes with less scope for leaving them out/fudging...

Quick techie help please. Should I record a video of technique (using accidentals) slowly which is rather unnatural or at normal speed. Isn't there some sort of facility on you tube to slow things down  when you are viewing???

That was my plan but if 'you tube' allows you to set the speed then I thought it would be better for me to play it as I would normally, and then you can set your own tempo to suit.

I think it was brought to our attention about a year ago by either Clive or Chris that Youtube offers an HTML5 alternative player that has several options for playback speed, including 1/2 and 1/4. If you are using this player you will see an extra button on the control bar labeled "normal."  Mousing over this button will exhibit the optional speeds.

To get the HTML5 player, go to  http://www.youtube.com/html5 .

Sorry for the delay, you don't know how long it has taken me to work out the new video camera  :|bl

First two are for Jiggery Pokerwork. Hope Squeezy doesn't mind  ::) but this is how I learnt it.
On the Saltarelle I use my thumb, on the Hohner I use my index finger so within the examples I play through twice showing both ways.

First is slow speed    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDtBbm9OTIc

Second is normal      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHn4o2UEaws

Accidentals only come in the B parts just in case you are wondering where they are at first  :D

Will try and do Jump at the Sun next now I know what to do.

Just one point to think about in terms of using the thumb or finger for the accidental. I first learnt on Saltarelle with a longer stretch requiring me to use the thumb. It was fine because the box was quite stable with two straps. After a frozen shoulder, I have learnt to play with one strap and the box is at a much lower, away from the body level. I have trouble using the thumb on the accidental when playing with one strap, it helps a bit if I am sat down like in the video. Either way, it's just my interpretation on playing the tune, perhaps others play it in a different way  ???

I could never understand why people used the thumb until I borrowed a Serenellini, which has altogether far too many buttons between the B and Bb - there's no other earthly way you could reach it. Very frustrating! At least on a 2.5 row it's in a sensible place when you've got a 4th button start... (gosh! All these things I never even considered when I bought it!).
