Hohner Sirena chromatic accordions?
« on: March 28, 2011, 11:01:25 PM »

Hohner once sold a chromatic accordion called the Sirena. It seems like the Sirena was built in several different configurations (Sirena V, Sirena VII, etc.). The body styles and graphics look like they were built from the 30s to the 50s or so, and they look nicely appointed with pearloid buttons.

Does anyone on the board have experience with these? They come up frequently enough on the usual auction sites. I'm curious if the Sirena series was made with any special care and what type of reeds they carry, like the hand finished type, different than the usual H and T from relevant periods.

FWIW I think the red Sirena V on the bottom has been refinished/customized.
