Alvari Accordion
« on: May 24, 2011, 10:39:33 AM »

My wifes mate spied a small Alvari Accordion in a junk shop the other day in town so taking a walk down and have a look at it I had a look at it through the shop window on Friday when it was closed.  Small silver thing with case priced £40.00.

Seriously overpriced I'm afraid.  Most appropriate that it should be in a junk shop for that is what it is.

I frequently have to advise people who have bought old accordions, from ebay or junk shops, where the seller has said things like 'just a couple of notes out of tune" .   It then turns out that it needs several hundred pounds spending on a full overhaul of a "bargain" that maybe cost a few tens of pounds.  So I'm delighted to help anyone avoid buying a cheap instrument that is very poor value for money.
