Thanks Mr Beveridge :-)
« on: June 04, 2011, 05:28:45 PM »

Ha!  Having spent time during my lesson working on Mr Beveridge's Maggot (thanks Steve), I went home and spent many an hour trying to nail where my fingers needed to be, involving far more cross row work that I have previously played with (in the few months since I started on this slippery melodeon playing slope).

Then, needing a break, I picked up a few other tunes that I'd been attempting to learn and suddenly, my brain and fingers seem to be working so much more intuitively!  I had reached a bit of a plateau but I think Mr Beveridge may have sorted that out!  And it's a cracking tune as well :-)  I recommend giving it a go if you haven't already.

SO pleased, I feel like I need a celebratory glass of wine  ;D

It's funny isn't it, how some tunes just take you up to the next level (and I have an image of Donkey Kong when I write that, which probably shows I'm getting on a bit :-)  )

How are you getting on with Mr B, LDT?  Have you nailed it yet?

Not yet. Still got 2 months of practice I think before I'll be comfortable playing it.

Congratulations to both Liz and Sarah  :|glug (Aspall's Peronelle's Blush)

I'm pleased for you both that you have made breakthroughs and have started ascending each from your own plateaux.
(I wish it would happen to me  :o  )
