We had a grand day and witnessed some inspiring playing.

Both our children step danced here and there throughout the day and took part in the step dance spectacular and evening concert.

Did anyone else go....and can you spot yourself in these pics and videos?

I was there, in fact I must have joined that outdoors seesion not long after you took your pictures. That's Roger Digby from C.net with the beard and glasses, and Alan Day, dressed in blue, with the white hair.

Ah, but you see, for many years Hobgoblin used the brand Gremlin for many of the cheaper instruments of various kinds that they sold, including their concertinas and accordions (and it's still the name of their wholesale company), but I could never understand why, as it seemed to be tempting fate! Fortunately they more recently changed to using other brands instead, so their cheaper ranges of accordions and concertinas have been renamed Scarlatti, like the concertina you bought.

But of course, you're not to know what they used to do, it's only us old folkies/fogeys...  ::)

By the way, I was the guy wandering around Stowmarket in a green Lachenal & Co., concertina t-shirt.

Yes, another fine weekend, with excellent weather to boot!

I'm in the last 2 photos - stood with my back to you in first one, playing red melodeon, then sitting next to Roger on 2nd one.

I much prefer outdoor sessions when it's nice...didn't spend alot of time in the barn this year as do like to be outside when I can!

Was it your children - a girl, and a boy in waistcoat and bowler hat - who step-danced on the verandah to the outdoor session? I thought they were brilliant!

Ah, then you're the lady with the little red (one-off) Oakwood melodeon that I was admiring...

I saw them too then, over Roger Digby's shoulder - he was wondering what the applause was for, as he had his back to them...

Had a lovely day - every year I find there's so much on and barely enough time to do all I want to do. And there seem to be even more fantastic steppers every year - particularly enjoyed the dancing of Leo Baker and a woman who's name I didn't catch but who's a champion Dartmoor stepdancer. The session in the late afternoon sunshine in the tea garden was lovely and a special thanks to Steve and Lin and their other halves and chums for being so friendly and welcoming at dinner and letting us squeeze on your table! Dave said to me afterwards what a lovely lot you all were! I took a few piccies too

Hi Ayla
very kind of you to say so!!!  Dennis and I are in a couple of your photsos, watching the stepping, which was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the "taster" workshop -
Linthe lady was an excellent teacher
