Restored A/D Presswood, Cheers Martyn!
« on: July 23, 2011, 02:27:44 PM »

Just got my box back from Martyn after a complete overhaul, it's an absolute joy to play!
Martyn has been wonderful, very easy to contact (He's replied to late night emails on multiple occasions!) and all around nice guy, he also has a stupidly cute puppy waddling round the house at the moment, a bit beside the point but still worth a mention  ;)

Bit of a naff video, the audio is rubbish but its something.

Thanks a lot mate! Would/will recommend you to anyone in the area, (I'm guessing you know his website anyway but just in case http://www.melodeonrepairs.co.uk/)

- Edit -

Got bored and filmed another video

Looks great and sounds wonderful.  Were you lucky enough to find one with that beautiful chrome intact or did he do something to restore that too?

Great looking and sounding box. After hearing it I really need to get my A/D refurbished.

Waiting For The Federals is a fine tune. Good version here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj3Rj-v6nh8

@Waltzman, The only metals that are bright are not original parts like the strap brackets and the grille, everything else is a bit tarnished!

@NeilA, ahh, so it is Waiting, I've been calling it March of the Federals, whoops! Slower tunes sound fantastic on this box, A/D is a gorgeous key for them

I saw this box, (and the stupidly cute puppy), yesterday. A fine job.

That's a really nice box and some good tunes. Old Hohners in A/D and Bb/Eb sound wonderful. It seems the puppy gets high marks as well.  (:)

I have a similar Hohner A/D awaiting restoration, but it has 12 basses. I would love to get it sounding like yours one day.
