I've tinkered with classical and fingerstyle guitar.  I used to play a lot, but haven't for some time. I've found you can annoy the kids so much more with a melodeon...

That's fair enough (fellow guitarist, fingerstyle but not classical). It would just have been too much to bear if you'd have been a musical novice and managed to get to grips with phrasing that quickly. All in all though your progress from scratch in a month is still impressive by any standards.

End of the month and onto a new tune; as ever, late versions always welcomed to this thread though!

Well done jsc, I see you've gained a shiny new BPII  ;D

One criticism from a fellow improver that I hope you won't take the wrong way. Every so often when playing the same note more than once you don't bother to finger it again to make the repeat note distinct in its own right. That kind of blurs things and takes the sharpness out of your playing. Otherwise you're doing very well and I'm already hearing a hint of a style that will one day be your own.

Thanks pete, yes the BPII is a new addition and I am really enjoyoing playing it.   All advice greatfully received, and I take your point about finger the same note again, i'll work on that.
Cheers
