Steve, you should also know that 'Quavers' are a brand of snack here, very similar to the 'prawn crackers' we get in Chinese restaurants in the UK. They're sold in small packets like crisps or 'potato chips' as they are called in the U.S.

Minim - half note
Crotchet - quarter note
Quaver - eighth note
Semi-quaver - sixteenth note
Demi - semiquaver - thirtysecond note
Hemi -demisemiquaver - a sixtyfourth note
There may be smaller notes - I neither know nor care, as the last two on that list are too mind bogglingly tiny for me to comprehend.
