Didn't even have to watch the video to guess this was about Renée de la Prade.  ;)

I reckon she's either got the treble end of the box welded to her belt buckle or she's been working out with a Bullworker for the strength to play like that.  :|||: :|||: :Ph

Haha, this was a right can of worms earlier in the year!!! Follow the above link to relive a rare old bunfight!

Ah! I recall we had some excellent weather at that time- not a common event here in Cornwall- I missed it all because I’d forgotten about computers ‘n stuff. Too busy sailing..

Still- I loved reading the whole ‘episode’ in one go- wonderful stuff. This is such a great site.

It seems fair that I should add that although I liked the clip, a little of her would probably go a long way. It solved the daughter’s, ‘What shall I get Pa for Christmas this year?’ problem though. I just MUST have one of Renee's calendars!

Just got through reading the many threads about the youtube performance of Renee.
Quite a range of opinions, as you might expect.
I loved it.
The whole thing was wonderful, punk outfit, neon hair, stomp platform, and manic energy.
It was a brilliant performance!

I think the lot of you should mind your own business.  ;)
If she can afford the box, enjoys playing it and others listening do also.
Where the hell is the problem?  8)

What problem?  I don't see what relevance affording the box has - my credit card balance was roughly equivalent to the purchase price for a couple of years.

Well, as she's a member here (or at least was recently) I'm sure she'll be pleased to know that she's elicited some more opinions.......

She is still listed on the member's roster. I would hope that some of the comments made on this forum will not discourage new members from posting their videos. There's more to contribute here than one-liners.

If accordions ever become cool again it will be people like Renee that make it happen.
IIRC before amplified music, accordions were the electric guitars of their day.

I never have understood the vehemence and vitriol aimed at Renee. Frankly, I enjoy her playing, I'm not at all bothered by her look and I think she plays with an unparallelled  exuberance that I can but admire. So what's the problem?

Not everybody likes the same tunes, styles, players etc, and thank the lord for it.

I quite agree; there are many areas of box-based music in which I have no particular interest, and I see no reason why anyone should be expected to like and enjoy everything on offer.  On the other hand, I think there are more constructive ways of expressing likes/dislikes.
