Tarantellas
« on: November 16, 2011, 05:36:21 PM »

Hello
Was just wondering if anyone knew of some
decent places on the interweb for tarantellas, abcs or dots .
Just been playing around with the Neopolitana / wedding one
and have a taste for a few more .

Www.organetto.it has a few good ones - the website looks like it was part finished but what is on there is good.  The tunes on there are a bit different from the Calabrian ones you find on You Tube (I think) but good stuff.

More notes on http://www.organetto.info/archivio_pre_eng.htm if you follow the Link Tab bit.

But I don't think it's got the one you're after.

I got my tarantella's mostly from this site:
http://www.organettodiatonico.it/organetto_spartiti_e_metodi_organetto.html
You can download these books as a zip file and unpack them.
It is a course how to play on a organetto, whit lots of Italian music.

On my website you find also a few tarantellas, here are the pdf's:
http://www.ggms.nl/CF/pdf/tarantella%20potentina%20in%20c.pdf
http://www.ggms.nl/CF/pdf/Saltarella.pdf
If you find want to know how they sound a mp3 of this tunes is at the following page:
http://www.ggms.nl/CFbladmuziek.html

You need a small program to open a zipfile, .
There are different programs, I use Free commander. But that program does a lot more than opening zipfiles.
Simplest way: Type "how to open a zip file" in Google and watch the answers

This is a school for youngsters playing organetto.  I just love the way they are chatting away and then two clicks and they are away - brilliant.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYgQELx7ReI&feature=related  Watch their fingers at about 38 secs in and bellows work later at just under the minute.

There's also quite a few Tarantella's amoungst the 18 vids on their channel.

I wonder if they let middle aged men into the class ?  (:)
