Well done polkas!
« on: November 29, 2011, 05:20:42 PM »

Clive posted these in the 32 bar polka ThoTM and I was so impressed by their whatssis that I featured them on my blog.  There's a gentleness about these that may change the way I play polkas forever.  Thank you, Clive!

I agree with you 100 percent, Gary. Melodeon playing can be found that is more complex than this, but it simply doesn't get any better.

Super timing. I absolutely love those sus chords. They come off heat just before this musical entree gets over cooked 8)  Shows us how it should be done, though I'd say it's à point

Is this the famous' unisonoric' bass?

It is, but it isn't - you don't really need a unisonoric bass to play this; it just makes it easier and lets you hold down a few drones occasionally while doing other stuff. All the other chord stuff is perfectly playable on a 12 bass D/G, but you need a G chord on the pull; it can also be played on an 8 bass D/G if you're better at swapping to the G row to play the G chord on the push than me (hey, it's not something I really practice!)

Cheers,

Clive
