Owen Woods at the Tudor Folk Club
« on: January 19, 2012, 09:57:11 AM »

Owen appeared at my local folk club this Monday and, with his permission, captured these two videos which show of his superb playing.

Saturday Night and bonny Green from Bucknell played on his Super-Preciosa

Lilly's March and Linden Lea on his Saltarelle Bouebe

Absolutely lovely playing, as always, Owen; imaginative basses, sympathetically interwoven with the melody.

Wow, who would have thought you could get a Preciosa to sound like that - especially the richness of the low bass and treble. Bet you're pleased how it has turned out. I love my Liliput, but unfortunately the ergonomics of it prevent me doing much before my arms begin to ache.

Excellent, extremely musical playing.  When is the last time that anyone heard of a melodeon player moving an audience to hum along with the music? Does this happen often in England? Thanks for posting this.  Charlie

Superb playing, Owen.
Bet the size of your Preciosa bellows impressed a few people as well  :o

Didn't get as many comments as usual, but it was mostly a singing crowd.

It's the first time it has ever happened to me, but it's wonderful! Really, really atmospheric.

Absolutely lovely playing, as always, Owen; imaginative basses, sympathetically interwoven with the melody.

Ask Mike how to get the Preccy to sound like that, not me! :P Glad you all enjoyed it.
