Sure is fantastic and I love your band arrangements.  No future dates on myspace.  Do let us know when you and the band are performing, particularly Dorset way.

Wow thanks for that Martin J. We don't do many gigs apart from a few Ceilidhs, Folk Clubs, Pubs and Festivals. We play for fun, not money and I am the exception; all the others are musicians  :D

I accompanied Marina Florance on Radio Devon last year for her song 'The Fisherman' (not the one on my YT page though. That is the Cabin Band) to raise money for the Devonshire air ambulance.

Does that make me famous ?    :D

By the way, how do you put a quote onto a posting?

Thanks again

Thanks for that -  a friend has just unearthed a copy and lent it to me.
And thanks also to Roland - and to add to what I said in my PM reply to you - if you're not a musician and a good one at that - there's certainly no hope for me.

Miss Lindsey Barker must be Michael Turner's niece or cousin - but they're certainly related!!!  ;D

Roland

Thank you very much for the dots.
Is that a Castagnari Evo you are playing?

IF so I have one that I do not get on very well with.
I think I prefer 3 voice boxes with stops etc.
I have am spoilt with my Handry
The Evos basses are two strong for my style of playing and
I may ask our REEs to suggest what can be done.

Once again very accomplished playing and thank you.

Oh and I am properly correct in thinking that 1952 is your birth year - Snap - A good vintage.

Melodyman,

Yes it is an Evo that I am playing which I collected from Sicily in January and I am liking it a lot although, as it is tuned 'Pignol/Milleret' it is a bit different from my Hascys and so I am trying not to confuse myself by learning new tunes on it instead of playing the old ones  ;) It is in C/F but also has switches (like the new Mas) to play the reeds together or seperately.

1952 is my year of birth and I hope it was a good one (it's the only one we've got  :D)

I may be wrong but I think that Lindsay Barker was a dance teacher, possibly from Norfolk, who may have been one of Andy's old girlfriends. Quite an honour to have a tune named after you eh?

Glad you got the dots ok.

Roland:
Yes that's nice stuff indeed.
Dare I ask - about 2min30 ish you somehow introduce a beautiful rich low bass into the accompaniament.
How do you achieve that effect?
...cos it's very nice!
cheers

By not playing any basses until then. It's all chords only (and with no thirds, it seems) up to that point, as far as I can tell. A quick bit of Google research seem to show that the Casta Evo doesn't have any bass couplers, so it's not done that way.

Ahhh ... I did wonder if it was all chords til then. I had to dash off for a second, so simply asked the question as opposed to working it out! The basses do sound lovely I must admit, nice and round.
thanks for that

Yes Anahata is quite correct (on both counts).
