Lester's blog has often been my first port of call for tunes.  It is a fantastic resource and I'm sure it has been of huge benefit to many of us.  Thanks, Lester.

As October is rapidly disappearing and I'm not going to get a chance to record something new, here's one I did earlier, played on a box fettled and tuned by the great man himself:

As a teenager I spent many happy hours at Lichfield Bower...pubs were open most of the day, unheard of in those days..morris dancing, fairgrounds and fun.  Here's the Lichfield Bower Processional in its morris dance guise, the Vandals of Hammerwich.  Morris dancers may not approve.  Jack Brown certainly would not have.

Nope...Dino Baffetti 6+2 2 Bass in G.  Can't find the equivalent model on the website.
Good fun, but needs a bit of a tweak.

Well done Baz! Enjoyed that. Great fun. I firmly believe that only when you play for morris dancers should you be restricted to their timing. It is wrong to play anything far too fast but this was fine.

Here's an offering from the lists of the Bailey Collection, The Boys of Bluehill, played on the Pistelli, now all fully tuned and ship-shape, with a bit of accompaniment on the 9 string cittern.

Dear God, thank you for helping me get, and play the melodeon and harmonica. I am extremely grateful for these gifts! Amen.

Today, I have recorded the Jenny Lind Polka! Enjoy!  ;D

Here's a late entry. This one is in Lester's archive and has been nominated for TotM in the past, but I don't think it was ever chosen. So here is a quick version of Midnight on the Water by Luke Thomasson., played on the green box with some guitar and cittern. My camera's on the blink, so I just put up some nice photos along with.

I haven't posted here for while, so here's a quick video from me.  This is South Downs Jig a rarity among tunes in that this is one I learned before Lester.

Was there life before Lester ??!!

Apparently there was also pedantry before Lester, although considerably less easy to find.

A full moon has been known to incite strange behavior in individuals at times. It is a full moon tonight November 25 2015 as I recorded the tune Midnight on the Water. I first heard this tune played by fiddler, Benny Thomasson, son of the man credited with writing it, in the early 1970s.
the video is very short due to limited memory of the recording device and freezing temperature.
