Charming Maid
« on: September 19, 2008, 12:26:53 AM »

Anyone help with the dots / abc for "The Charming Maid". English tune played by John K, Brass Monkey, Flos and Paul, etc.
I need to learn it for Saturday night.

Rees, if you can get hold of the English Tune book that JK did for Mally I believe it's the last or penultimate tune in the book

Thank you all. My bacon is saved and reputation intact (or it will be if I can find time to learn the tune!)

Not an expert in ABC but I'm sure it's not the same tune as I know from JK's book

It isn't.  A snippet of Brass Monkey's rendition can be heard here, and it's certainly not in 3/4.

yep, that's it.  It needs 8 of the nine D row buttons when I play it on my organetto (in D obviously  ::) ).

Oops, sorry Rees.  Seems like a nice tune anyway . . . . Glad someone had the right one.  Perhaps you could claim it as an "arrangement"?

The more charming maids the better, as far as I'm concerned!

Didn't actually get to play it at the gig, but hammered out out at the Alma session yesterday with Flos and Smoiler.
Tidy like.
