Castagnari -- gorgeous catalog
« on: February 26, 2012, 07:13:35 PM »

I don't know whether Castagnari just recently added this to its website, or if it just became viewable to me after I recently upgraded my browser.
I know that some of us enjoy looking at old Hohner marketing materials, etc. In any case, I couldn't resist praising Castagnari's efforts on my blog, here: http://melodeonminutes.blogspot.com/2012/02/gorgeous-castagnari-catalog-now.html
Cheers,
Andy

Andy, I think it's new.
After looking at your link, I've just clicked on my normal 'favourites' link and it's appeared.
As you say, somewhat dribble generating!

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!

It rather reflects your taste in headgear!  I'm now racking my brains to remember "The Walrus and the Carpenter..."

I'm trying to work out what my Catagnari model is. It is an A/D with two extra incidental buttons, stepped keyboard with 12 basses. I thought it was an Alain 12 but having looked in the catalogue mine differs in that it has a stop on the treble end. Any suggestions?

Yours is the older Alain 12. They have now replaced the stop with two switches mounted in the grille.

Cheers Rees! You don't happen to know what timber it is? Looks like a very straight grained pine, not cherry and not walnut. Any idea what they used to make them in?
