sending jpeg images
« on: December 30, 2007, 06:22:23 PM »

Hi,
Another member has contacted me and asked for a couple of pics to view. I've used the forum email to formulate my reply. However, although I can write text and send successfully the same cannot be said about attaching images. I have tried the box that states "insert images" but achieved nothing. I gave up in the end in frustration >:(.
Any suggestions?

You need to upload the pictures somewhere on the web first, and then link to them.

There are all sorts of free image hosting services, try the following:

Andrew,
Thank you for the info'. I've now hosted with image shack. If I may impose further, how do I now send the image to the potential recipient? Do I use the little box that states "Insert image" when I pass my cursor over it or do I provide a direct link.
Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Mike

Once the pic is hosted on image shack you just email the url of the photo, or the page containing the photo.  Image shack probably provide this for you to copy.

I don't understand your reference to an "insert image" box.  When I use the email link for a member of this forum it opens my email client, where I can attach an image in the usual way.

When you click the "Insert Image" icon it will place two img tags.

Place the URL of the image between the img tags and it will show in your message.
