Date of Manufacture?
« on: March 06, 2012, 04:37:35 PM »

Just came across this on ebay:

"I didn't see a date, but on the back it says 'AD'".  So that narrows it down some.  ;D

Could be 1920s/1930s.

I'd say 20s/30s too. Can't be older than 1918 guaranteed and wouldn't be after 1938 due to Czechoslovakia's only existing under that name after 1918 and after 1938 it was hyphenated and split due to Nazi occupation. History lesson over.. :P

Should this not be CE and BCE? We must not offend followers of non-Christian religions (well they aren't usually offended because the dating is only a convention, but we must keep the equality industry in business!)  :o

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

I have books that were printed in Czechoslovakia post WWII (1960's & 1970's) and they are all marked as printed in Czechoslovakia (ČSSR), which is not surprising since they didn't hyphenate the name in English or Czech after 1945 either.
