Here's a 2 Beat

http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/08/youp-nanette-2-beat-bourree.html

And a 3 beat bourrée followed by a waltz which, at the time, I also thought was a bourrée.

http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/02/bourrees.html

I'm working up some new ones from the "La Bourrée" tune book.

It's vids like this that convince me that our instrument is worth all the time we give to it!
thanks Clive.  I really like the answer to the challenge of bourree basses provided by those special CW unisonic  buttons... when powered by the CW rhythmic drive.

A three-beat bourree from Paris' Carnet de Bal.  Somewhat rough, but I like the energy.

This is my first recording. I started playing in March, so this is fairly rough but I thought I should go ahead and post it. I definitely have melodeon face, but if I try to fix it, then I lose my place.  I'm playing Bourree Droite de Glux on my Beltuna Sara 3 in G/C.

Good Lord, that was excellent given that you've been playing such a short time! You must play another instrument surely? Phrasing like that doesn't appear overnight.

Thanks, that's encouraging. Yes I play several instruments including anglo concertina, which I think makes it easier to learn the button accordion.

Hi. My speed version of the beautiful ChassePain. It's in D in a GC 2V Loffet.

http://soundcloud.com/abel-andrade/chassepainv1-0

I think it's a bit fast.. but strangely some people here dance a 3T bourre at this speed.
Some mistakes here and there but there isn't time to record it again..

Here are four two-beat bourrées.  Three of the them -- "La Ruban Bleu," "Le Bergére de Coulandon," and "Youp' Nanette" -- are marked in my blue and pink book as "standard."  "Le Timide" is on Patrick Bouffard's, Revenant de Paris.

Thanks so much, comments appreciated.

Hi,
I live near St Chartier/Chateau d'Ars and play regularly with various local groups and sessions.  My french wife runs 2 dance workshops that I play for, and also play for the local Groupe Folklorique (french version of morris dancing - but NO pubs.)  Naturally the Bourrée is the most popular form of folk music here and like you mention in your blog tunes are often reffered to by different names.  Just as in the old morris tunes.  I am lucky to play with an 83 year old accordeonist who has played since he was 9 so what he knows about the local bourrées is something else.  Just in the small area around here a tune can be called by many names according to the dance.  Most tunes originate from songs so it is wonderful when the old boys burst in to song.  The tune you mention 'ruban bleu' or 'ton reuban bleu' is known locally (and in Mel's book) as the bourrée carre de la Châtre.  Bourree carre is a 4 person dance and there are as many variants as there are days in the year.
My wife's local club has 70 active members - a lot to cope with - and they have just concieved there own 8 person bourre to a tune written for us by a violinist from the Paris conservatoire.  As you see it is a 'living tradition' as my old morris side called it when they changed a traditionl dance.
One of the local bands I play with for the saturday night bal folks play lodas of local music but also dances from other parts.  We normally play from 9pm till midnight, half hour break for coffee and cake, the carry on till about 02.30/3 am.  when playing they only stop for half a minute in between tunes so we get through many dozens per bal.  My playing has improved so much since playing with them.
