Just back from a great week at Folkcamp in Zeilitzheim, Germany. I managed to get a bit of support for a TOTM contribution.

Interesting - I didn't know "Lemonville Jig" prior to this TOTM, and when I listened to it at the start of the month (yet another month when I haven't had time to sit down and learn a tune, let alone make a postable recording), my first thought was "That's very reminiscent of Little Burnt Potato".  Seems I'm not alone!

The Lemonville Jig, The Quarrymen and Little Burnt Potato are played as a set around here, and I know we got them like that from someone else. I'm not sure who put them together in the first place, but they (either all three, or various pairings) have certainly been doing the rounds...

I strongly suggest it was Willie Tyalor.

A great dancing tune and some fantastic versions here - everyone makes it sound so easy!

But it was indeed very difficult - I think this must be the fastest tune I've attempted so far.  Amazing how your fingers start hopping along lopsidedly when trying to keep jig basses going - or is that just me?

I'm hoping that I will come back to this in a year's time and it will play itself a lot better ;D.

Just scraped in on the right month 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ADIgJBfxyg&feature=youtu.be

A favourite of the great Northumbrian piper, Joe Hutton. Wonderful player, great tune.

That's all for this tune folks; on to another month! As always, late submissions always welcome! Just stick them on the end...

A bit late but covered this tune set at a workshop last weekend tutored by Ian Dedic. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing with any emphasis in the bass rhythm but it's what I do.

Probably won't be a set played out of the comfort of my own home. Love the tunes but found them a bit of headache to learn. The chances of me remembering them are pretty much zero  (:)

Played on a Hohner Pressed Wood DG.

Hi All,
You really must check out on YouTube  " shoot the sherbet to me Herbert "  Tommy Dorsey.
It's nothing to do with the tune of the month, but wow.
