Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find the dots for the tune ‘Mira’ by Naragonia? It’s a really beautiful tune.

Thanks

Thanks Dick Rees. Really good of you. Will take a look at the transcription.

Theo - I have all the Naragonia tunebooks (which are superb), unfortunately ‘Mira’ was post the last one they published and is therefore not included. Fingers crossed that they are working on another tunebook. They are a great resource.

A lovely tune. I'd sell my soul for the talent to play like that.

I would suggest that you write them an email.

I have their Tunebook and 5 or 6 of their CD's but I was disappointed that one of my favourite Naragonia tunes, Batiska, was not in the Tunebook, neither could I find the sheet music on line. So, I wrote them an email asking if I could buy the sheet music from them and I was surprised and happy that they sent it to me free of charge, by return and with a very nice email as well. What lovely people!

They are indeed. Pascale took care of an email I sent several years ago, just to explain how they had their boxes set up, and the Wensleydale opportunity to meet them was very moving. Mira isn't so much about the tune or the playing but the locking together of the phrasing, balance, interdependence, trust...
Great music sometimes takes great heart (though I can think of some exceptions).

Arty, great to hear that they are so approachable. The transcription by Dick Rees has proven to be pretty spot on but  I think I may drop them a line anyway. If anything to say thank you for their playing. They are pretty much the reason why I picked up the box in the first place.  You may not have seen but you can now get the dots for Bartiska and the rest of that album in their second tunebook. I agree it is another beautiful tune. I've just added it to my list!

Playandteach, yes I agree, they have a wonderful understanding of their craft.

I'm having the hardest time trying to read Dick Rees's transcription. My apologies to Dick but neither my eyes nor level of musical education are up to the task. I catch a phrase here and there but seem to be missing a few notes.

I have the tune books but as has been mentioned before Mira is not included. Would you Dick or anyone else care to write the dots a little clearer?

Many thanks in advance.

I greatly appreciate the support. The Em version works wonderfully.

Not only did I manage to buy another copy of the Mira cd last weekend in Wensleydale, I have just spent time inputting the dots of the tune onto Musescore, from the photo (couldn't open Jack's link) only to find that I had already done that the other year as well ! I wonder if I ever got round to trying to play it or did it just end up in the 'future projects' pile ::)
I blame brain fog after the streaming cold I'm just getting over.
And if anyone would like my spare cd I'll try to remember to bring it to the Halsway d/g weekend !

Hi,
This thread has re-opened and at the same time I've seen Paul Young play 'Batiska' on Youtube, so I was absentmindedly trying to browse Naragonia's website in search of dots for 'Batiska'.
My search for their tunebook was halted before it began as my antivirus has blocked their website citing it as being infected with 'Blacklist' .
Anyone else had this?

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!
